TOP 10 Fighters in 12/13
Joint 1st
Benn Olson 19 fights...
Most fights in the EIHL, most wins, and one of the more entertaining fighters in the league. Olson fought the following EIHL toughguys this season- Ryan Hand, Adam Keefe x3, Devin Didiomete x3, Drew Fata x2, Gui Lepine x3, Tom Sestito, Tyson Marsh. Plus a handful of fights against non-fighters as well. Apart from a few testing fights with Adam Keefe, Olson looked impressive all season long dominating the likes of Didiomete, Fata, Lepine who are all decent toughguys.
Ryan Hand 13 fights...
Hand challenged all the top guys all season long, fighting all the other big name fighters in the league. Hand fight card contains Benn Olson, Adam Keefe, Tom Sestito, Gui Lepine, Craig Cescon, Jesse Gimblett, Chris Frank, Derek Campbell. Could be argued that Hand went the whole season with-out a loss while winning the majority of his fights.
3rd Adam Keefe 12...
Adam Keefe had another impressive season in Belfast as their tough guy. He fought some of the toughest guys in the league, and apart from one fight when he was dropped by Mike Egener, Keefe looked impressive in all his other scraps. Keefe fought the big names like Benn Olson and Ryan Hand a number of times testing both guys, he also got the better of Panthers D.man Jason Beckett in their first fight, while their 2nd was a close exciting scrap. Keefe also fought Gui Lepine of the Panthers & Bryan Jurynec of the Blaze.
4th Gui Lepine 15...
Panthers tough D.man was a regular fighter this season but less impressive when he dropped the gloves this year than he has been in the EIHL in the Past. Lots of his fights were grappling matches that ended quickly this season. Saying that Lepine was still one of the better fighters in the league with wins over Chris Frank, Mike Egener, Steven Goertzen, Greg Stewart. Lepine also fought Ryan Hand a few times, Adam Keefe, Craig Cescon, Tyson Marsh, and also Benn Olson 3 times. Olson was the only guy IMO to clearly beat Lepine this season.
5th Kelsey Wilson 6...
Wilson put up two of the best fights in the EIHL this season. He beat Blaze tough guy Mike Egener in a cracker in Coventry, and fought Simon Feruson in the fight voted most entertaining this season in the EIHL in Sheffield. Wilson also fought Devils tough D.man Tyson Marsh and a few non-fighters.
6th Mike Egener 6...
Blaze tough D.man impressed with his no nonsense style of play and was not afraid to drop the gloves when it mattered this season. He fought and got the better of both Giants tough guys Greg Stewart & Adam Keefe, he beat Devils Josh Batch, fought Gui Lepine twice, and although he lost to Kelsey Wilson it was one of the fights of the season.
7th Jason Beckett 4...
Big d.man for the Panthers who dropped the gloves just 4 times this season but he put on some good fights. He lost to Adam Keefe early on in the season but then beat Steve Goertzen. Then he fought Simon Ferguson with both guys landing a simultaneous TKO in that fight, before having another battle with Giants tough guy Keefe.
8th Craig Cescon 4...
Joined the EIHL late on in the season and was playing in a conference with very few other fighters. Cescon did drop the gloves with Ryan Hand and Gui Lepine while also getting the better of a few non-fighters. Cescon if he fought more would of been much higher on my list as he's a good fighter.
9th Chris Frank 5...
Steelers tough guy only had a handful of fights this season fighting a couple of times against Panthers Gui Lepine, and a decent fight with Hulls Ryan Hand. His other fights were against non-fighters.
10th Greg Stewart 6...
Giants power forward Stewart did not win many of his fights this season with losses to NHL'er Tom Sestito, Gui Lepine, and getting destroyed by Mike Egener. He also fought Jeff Smith and Gerad Adams and a few non fighters.
Mentions
Tom Sestito 3...
NHL lock-out player for the Steelers. Lost 2 of his 3 fights in the UK to Ryan Hand and Benn Olson, while scoring a close win over Greg Stewart.
Devin Didiomete 5...
Didiomete was the Devils tough guy at the start of the season. Entertaining guy on the ice and he fought the toughest guy in the league Benn Olson 3 times before he left. He may of lost those fights but he showed up in all of them. His other fights were against non fighters.
Simon Ferguson 2...
Ferguson signed up to the Steelers late on in the season and fought just the twice. Both fights were voted 1 & 2 by the fans here as the best this season in the EIHL. He fought both Kelsey Wilson and Jason Beckett in crackers.
Drew Fata 4...
Fought Olson a few times and lost, though he did drop Gerome Giudice and he also jumped Panther agitator Jordan Fox before the season ended.
Tyson Marsh 3...
Marsh fought just a few times this season against Benn Olson, Gui Lepine and Kelsey Wilson.
Jesse Gimblett 5...
Fought Ryan Hand twice and also had 3 wins against non fighters.
