EIHL Enforcers & tough guys for the 2015/2016 season Adam Keefe 5'10" 200lbs , 301 career fights.. Keefe has lead the Giants to two EIHL championships in the last four season's, while leading the team in penalty minutes and fighting majors. Keefe last season over took Paxton Schulte as having had the most fighting majors as a Giant. Keefe has fought names like Brad Voth, Ryan Hand, Benn Olson, Derek Campbell, Jozef Sladok, Mike Egener, Guillaume Lepine, Bryan Jurynec, Leigh Salters, Matt Nickerson, Andrew Lord, Trevor Hendrikx & Brad Plumpton over his five seasons in Belfast. Keefe had previously played 10 seasons in the OHL,ECHL and AHL in North America averaging 23 fights a season. He has fought some top quality enforcers in NA like Jeremy Yablonski, Francis Lessard & Raitis Ivanans. Keefe has been voted the toughest guy 'Pound for Pound' in the EIHL by our followers in the last three season on twitter. Keefe will be hoping to lead the Giants to more glory in 2015/16 season as he is now a player assistant coach with the Giants. Matt Nickerson 6'4" 235lbs , 75 career fights.. Matt was a big presence out on the ice for the Flyers and made sure his team mates had plenty of protection, and this is why Steve Thornton brought Matt to Belfast. Matt has fought Andrew Lord, Jeff Smith, Chris Frank, Kevin Bergin, Leigh Salters, Tim Spencer, Doug Clarkson, Tysen Dowzak, Adam Keefe, Zack Fitzgerald in the UK and he showed he was one of the toughest guys in the EIHL the last few seasons. Nickerson had a good rivalry last season with the Clans Zack Fitzgerald and now Zack has joined the Steelers they will again be conference rivals this season in the EIHL which should be fun for the fans in Belfast and Sheffield. In the past Nickerson has fought names like Pierre-Luc Leblond, Kevin Cormier, D.J. King, Eric Godard, Anthony Peluso & Kip Brennan, all of who are top quality enforcers and fighters. I think Nickerson signing is a good move for the Giants, he's a fan favorite and offers his team the physical play & toughness required in the EIHL.

Stefan Meyer 6'2" 200lbs , 54 career fights.. FIGHT CARD -- dropyourgloves.com/Fights/FightCard.aspx?Player=7852Star player in the Junior WHL with the Medicine Hat Tigers as a kid. Meyer went on to play in both the NHL and AHL leagues in North America. Meyer helped the Sheffield Steelers win a Play-off championship a few seasons ago in the EIHL and finished the season with 28 goals in 57 games. Last year Meyers helped the Clan win the Gardiner Cup and added 36 goals and 38 assists in 59 games. Meyer has fought the likes of Jeff Szwez, Rick Rypien, Tom Maxwell, Zac Rinaldo. Meyer should again be one of the stand out players in a talented Braehead side next season. |

 Leigh Salters 6'4" 230lbs , 87 career fights.. FIGHT CARD -- dropyourgloves.com/Fights/FightCard.aspx?P=14456Leigh Salters is a massive signing for the Devils due to his ability as a Power forward. Salters has been the best power forward in the EIHL the last 2 seasons while also being one of the hardest hitting players and one of the tougher guys in the league as well. He's won the C.C Cup with the Panthers and also the Gardiner Cup with the Clan while putting up over a point a game average in the EIHL. Salters previous to coming to the UK played in the OHL, ECHL and AHL leagues fighting top enforcers like Brandon Mashinter, Anthony Peluso, Kyle Neuber, Richard Greenop and Luke Gazdic in the OHL, Tim Spencer, Matt Kassian, Eric Neilson & Pierre-Luc Leblond in the AHL, and Steven Delisle & Josh Caron. Salters could be in my opinion the signing of the season in the EIHL playing on the smaller BBT ice on a strong Devils team. Expect another great season from Leigh. Trevor Hendrikx 6'2" 220lbs , 134 career fights.. Ross Robertson Cup in his final season in 2005-2006. After coming out of the Jnrs, Hendrikx played most of his career in the ECHL & CHL winning two back to back championships with the Allen Americans in his previous two season in North America. Lord has also played and fought in the AHL and had a stint in the German 2nd tier league. As well as the names mentioned above Lord has fought top AHL enforcers like Justin Johnson, Wade Brookbank, Luke Gazdic and Anthony Peluso. Andrew Hotham 6'2" 200lbs , 36 career fights.. He's a big D.Man who plays a physical role out on the ice and has skated at the highest level playing for the Atlanta Thrashers in the NHL, and has won the Calder Cup in the AHL in 06/07 with the Chicago Wolves. Boris will give many of the EIHL forwards something to think about this coming season when they face the Blaze with his physical D game. Valabik is a decent enough heavyweight tough guy and will be the Blaze's main go to guy this season. Valabik has fought big name enforcers and tough guys during his career including names like Dennis Bonvie, John Scott, Shawn Thornton, Jody Shelley, Zdeno Chara, Eric Godard, Luke Gazdic, Brett Gallant and David Koci. He's also fought guys who have played or are still playing in the EIHL like Daniel Bois, Kevin Harvey, Andrew Hotham, Tom Sestito, Kelsey Wilson, Greg Stewart, Theo Peckham, Brandon Biggers, Anthony Stewart, Greg Stewart & Andrew Lord. Clarkson has played in the OHL, CIS, ECHL and AHL while in North America, fighting a number of times including against a couple of familiar names in Jozef Sladok & former Devil Andrew Conboy. Last season Clarkson proved to be a good power forward for the Devils putting up 20 goals and 23 assists in 61 games. Clarkson fought a number of times last season and had good fights with Mike Egener, Chris Frank, Matt Nickerson and Craig Cescon. This should prove to be a very good signing for the Dundee Stars. Justin Faryna 6'0" 195lbs , 43 career fights.. FIGHT CARD -- dropyourgloves.com/Fights/FightCard.aspx?P=34166Scrappy middleweight fighter Justin Faryna will be an agitator who's willing to drop the gloves on occasions for the Stars next season.  Riley Emmerson 6'8" 250lbs , 177 career fights.. FIGHT CARD -- dropyourgloves.com/Fights/FightCard.aspx?Player=13996He's 6'8" & 250lbs enforcer and now also the head coach of the Caps this season. Emmerson had a very good first season with the Caps and made an impression with the Caps owners that made them want him back as player coach. Riley fought only a few times last season as he did not have many willing guys that would drop the gloves with him. Only the very toughest in the league like Kevin Westgarth and Leigh Salters were willing to drop the gloves with the Caps enforcer. Emmerson through out his career has been one of the better fighters in most of leagues he's played in and he's fought many former and present EIHL tough guys and enforcers like Trevor Hendrikx, Jason Beckett, Brent Henley, Jason Kostadine, Tim Spencer, Alex Penner, Sean McMorrow, Kevin Harvey, Brett Clouthier, Jesse Gimblett, Pascal Morency, Justin Sawyer and Craig Cescon. While he's also fought some of the best enforcers in the leagues like the AHL,ECHL & CHL, names like Jon "Nasty" Mirasty, Jeremy Yablonski, Francis Lessard, Matt Carkner, Jay Rosehill, Justin Johnson, Kip Brennan..ect. Caps players played a foot taller last year with Riley watching their back & I expect Emmerson to again be one of the better fighters in the EIHL league in 2015/16, with the team that Riley has formed with toughness and skill the Caps should be fun to watch in 2015/16. Kyle Flemington 6'7" 230lbs , 53 career fights.. FIGHT CARD -- dropyourgloves.com/Fights/FightCard.aspx?P=46250Another guy that impressed last season and is back again for the Caps is Kyle Flemington. This kid was slated pre-season by rival Scottish fans but he proved a lot of people wrong and showed he belonged in the EIHL as a big physical defensive D.man. Flemington has played the enforcer role while in the OHL league and fought some real tough enforcers like Derek Mathers & Daniel Zweep, while last season he dropped the gloves with Jeff Hutchins and Zack Fitzgerald in the EIHL. Janssen has played the enforcer role at the very top level, playing 336 NHL games for the New Jersey Devils & St. Louis Blues. Previous to playing in the NHL Cam played in the OHL and AHL leagues. Cam was the OHL Most Penalized Player in 2001/02(268min) and has led the OHL and AHL leagues in fighting majors in the past. Cam has fought all the top enforcers from his era including some of the very best like Brian McGrattan & Steve MacIntyre, While also on his fight card is a long list of former EIHL enforcers including Sean McMorrow, Mike Hoffman, Kevin Westgarth, Wade Belak and Graham Belak, Paul Bissonnette, Colt King .ect Cam has also fought current EIHL tough guys Adam Keefe, Zack Fitzgerald & Trevor Hendrikx. Janssen may be past his prime as a fighter but he's still as tough as most of the EIHL enforcers this season & will provide the Panthers with a hard hitting forward who will provide his team mates with lots of protection on the ice this coming season. I'm sure he will get a large fan base in Nottingham after he's clashed with a few of his rival teams enforcers through out the season. Theo Peckham 6'2" 235lbs , 111 career fights.. Peckham is a quality D.man who plays a physical game and will drop the gloves with anyone.
